Kembali di Belakang Meja dan Jendela Maya aku Bekerja
After three years of abstinence from journalism, today is my first 'comeback' day.
Back behind the desk, making research, brainstorming about coverage topics, and trying to get interviewees' contact information.
The first day went okay, except about the fact that I ought to search Fauzi Bowo's contact. The 108 gave me 7 numbers. I called all of them many times but the responses I received were: wrong number, not answered, and error directory calls (Gee, it's the Pemda DKI Jakarta, no wonder. My expatriate boss seemed surprised, but I'm not)
Other than that I guess I have no major problem doing my job and adapting with the new place. I love the fact that some of my coverage ideas are accepted and the boss trusted me to work on education section. They soon will set my own table and I will get computers after Christmas.
I still teach at UI, which means that currently I have a double job. A writer/teacher.

hmm, a writer and teacher. they are my dream jobs. :-)
actually, I have three jobs now... teacher. writer. and rocker. hehe...
btw, some of my senior teachers work in journalism field as well... teaching and writing can surely work together.
