tertimbun paperwork bejibun
What I love most about my job is my classroom teaching activities...
I'm the boss in class, and it's kindda fun looking at those late-teenagers do whatever I've told them to do. I've got the power! Nyahahaha...
And what I hate most is... the never ending paperwork. Homework taken home to be checked, marked, corrected, evaluated, etc... Out of my 12 classes I've been handling this semester, 6 of them are classes in which I'm only a facilitator. Facilitators get workloads as much as lecturers, but the difference is that we have to follow the syllabus that especially made for us by our BOSS. The syllabus, ironically, contains tons of compulsory homework, and it is our responsibility to guide the students and evaluate/mark them. I have 6 of this kind of classes. Each class consists of 40-50 students (it's a big class... 3 credits!) Each students make at least 8 assignments. So... 6(classes) x 45 (the average of number of students per class) x 8 (assignments) / 2 (we work it together with a partner in each class, so it is divided by two as in two teachers per class) = 1080 assignments this semester!!! For heaven's sake, give me a break!!! the assignments in my other classes are not even included to the amount of 1080 yet!!! So in total, this semester I have -more or less- 1400 paperwork!!!
I love teaching. I really do... But I hate these homework checking stuffs... Next semester, I will definitely limit my role as facilitator (Btw, have I told you that the salary for a facilitator is less than the salary for a lecturer_ with the same*or sometimes more* amount of workloads?) I will do private teaching instead... less paperwork. more money.
Gosh, I've just made education as a commodity. I'm a capitalist teacher...
