Dream Job
Remember my posting about me being panic for not checking my email everyday?
Because of not having enough time to check my business email everyday, I missed one important email from a magazine which I was applying. Then I phoned the office, and asked for another opportunity for me sending the sample writing as the part 1 interview. They said yes.
After a few weeks, I got another email from the magazine. This time it was not from the secretary, but from the editor in chief. She asked whether she could meet me in person for an interview. During the interview, I was very nervous. My English was like a lower intermediate level English course student. I think I did very badly. I usually confident in such interview, but that time I wasn't. Was it because the editor who interviewed me was an expatriate? Or was it because I really like the magazine? I'm not sure. But it was true in a way, I guess. I think I need to work with a bule for the sake of my English. Also, I have always wanted to be a travel journalist.
Anyway, she asked me to observe the magazine and write three ideas and the sample introductory paragraph for the magazine. She gave me a two-days-deadline.
So there was I, working my brain off to get the ideas. It wasn't easy, yet it wasn't hard either. It was fun and challenging. I send the email an hour late, but I was very satisfied with the ideas and writings I came up with.
After waiting for a few days, I got a response email (tad-aa...)
I got the dream job.
Now it isn't a dream job anymore. It's merely another job.
